Frequently Ask Question

What Clients Ask About Our NDIS

Am I eligible for NDIS funding?

To be eligible for NDIS funding, you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa, be under 65 years of age, and have a permanent or significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities. The NDIS assesses how your condition impacts your daily life and what supports you need to live more independently.

NDIS funding is available to people aged under 75 at the time they apply. If you’re younger than 75 and meet the disability requirements, you may be eligible to join the scheme. Individuals who enter the NDIS before turning 75 can generally continue receiving support even after they reach 75.

The NDIS covers a wide range of permanent and significant disabilities, including physical, intellectual, cognitive, neurological, sensory, and psychosocial disabilities. Rather than focusing on a diagnosis alone, the NDIS looks at how the disability impacts your daily life and your ability to participate in activities and the community.

If you disagree with an NDIS decision, you can request an internal review within 3 months of receiving it, asking the NDIA to reassess the decision. If you’re still not satisfied with the outcome, you can then apply to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) for an external review. Support coordinators, advocates, or disability support organisations can also help you through the appeals process.
