Daily Tasks & Shared Living (SIL, STA & MTA) Service

At Velvet Care, we support neurodiverse individuals and people with disabilities to manage everyday tasks and live more independently. Our team works closely with each participant and their family to create a personalised plan that fits their lifestyle, goals and support needs.

Daily Tasks & Shared Living Includes:

  • 24/7 personalised support

  • Medication assistance

  • Respectful personal care

  • Help with cooking, cleaning and daily living skills

  • Behaviour support assistance

  • Support with household tasks and safety

  • Transport and appointment support

  • Community access and social skill development

  • Help with utilities, budgeting and bills

All supports are flexible and can be adjusted anytime.

Short Term Accommodation (STA)

STA provides short-term support and a change of environment for participants and their carers. It includes accommodation, meals, personal care, medication support and activities delivered by trained, caring staff.

Options: group-based stays, support in your own home, or private accommodation.
A friend/family member may join (shared accommodation cost).
STA can be used for up to 28 days per year, flexibly.

Medium Term Accommodation (MTA)

Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) provides a safe and stable temporary living option for participants who are waiting to move into their long-term home. It is funded for up to 90 days and is ideal for individuals who cannot transition yet due to pending supports such as home modifications, equipment installation, or SDA availability.

MTA ensures participants have a comfortable place to stay while continuing to receive the daily support they need, helping them maintain independence and routine during this transition period.

Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Supported Independent Living (SIL) provides ongoing assistance to help participants develop the skills they need to live confidently and independently in their own home. Our support workers focus on building daily living skills, encouraging independence, and creating a safe, comfortable living environment.

Support may include:

  • Personal care and hygiene assistance

  • Help with cooking, cleaning and household tasks

  • Companionship and daily supervision

  • Assistance with budgeting and managing routines

SIL funding does not cover:

  • Everyday living costs (rent, groceries, utilities)

  • Hospital-based care

  • SDA expenses (repairs, vacancy costs, etc.)

  • Activities outside the home, including transport and holidays

All SIL support is fully personalised, ensuring each participant receives the right level of assistance to achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.
